Blood Flow is Robert Earl Prices’ fifth volume of poetry. Bloodlines, Blood Elegy, Blues Blood and Wise Blood are the titles of earlier volumes. His poems have appeared in scores of journals and magazines including The Atlanta Review, Snake Nation Review and The Chattahoochee Review. He has performed hundreds of readings in places as diverse as Berlin, Havana and Johannesburg and he is a frequent participant in the open mike/slam poetry scene. He has amassed writing credits in fiction, drama and poetry. His many awards include: A National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship for Poetry, The TCG/NEA Playwright’s Residency, The American Film Institute’s William Wyler award for screenwriting, and a Cultural Olympics commission for theater, Gene-Gabriel Moore Playwriting award and he is a recipient of a Maryland Individual Artist Award, and a Kenny award for theatre. Price is the recipient of dozens of prizes and notices for his poetry and drama, including two individual NEA awards, the City of Atlanta’s Mayor’s Fellowship, and an honorary member of The South African Poets League.
