Carol Roan

A Change in the Air

What a wonderful collection of stories. I sat down this afternoon to read a few, but didn’t stop until I finished the entire book. Even though I’m one of those notorious New York City people, Spring Valley sounds like a lovely little town and one I would thoroughly enjoy living in – part-time, that is.

Carol Roan’s amazing gift for finding words that exactly express the feelings and sentiments of her characters is a true gift. I found myself lost in the town and its inhabitants and wish I knew more about each and every one of them. Especially, the old lady who grew up in the Castle.

My only complaint is that I feel abandoned by not knowing more about each person, which could be corrected if the author ever decides to expand these stories into a full length novel. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that happens some day.
